I'm all set to run Nancy's virtual race, 8 miles on 8/08/08. That works out well for me since I usually like to run a slightly longer distance on Friday mornings, when I don't have to be at work so early. I don't know yet whether I'll do just the eight miles, or add on an extra mile or two and pick out my best eight. Depends on how early I can make myself get up and how I'm feeling... but mostly how early I can get up.
One thing I know, I'm not expecting any kind of race pace for this! I absolutely cannot make myself run as fast on my own as I can in a competitive setting. So I'm just planning on an easy run with some random speedwork. We'll see how it goes.
