All better now

I figured since I told the world about my dog bite, I'd better reassure the world that I have recovered nicely! Coincidentally, it took pretty much exactly the two days that the nurse told me to rest, for the wound to heal enough that I felt okay to run. I took Monday and Tuesday off from all exercise, and then went out for 6.25 yesterday (I was prepared to do less if I felt bad). My leg still felt a little sore, but I think it was more from the bruising than the injury. I also moved from a gauze bandage to bandaids yesterday. This morning I did 6.5 (I could have gone further but I didn't have enough time) and really it didn't hurt at all. I'm going to cross-train tomorrow, then go back to my originally planned medium-long runs on Saturday and Sunday. My mileage this week will probably be a good 20 miles less than last week...but it is a cutback week, anyway.

I'm still concerned. What about the dog? What if it had rabies? Does the owner of the dog even know? I just want to make sure that you dont have Rabies and that the dog doesnt bite anyone else.

That is scary about the dog. Will you change your route?

As of 8/14, I think I am completely healed. I think a lot of the soreness came from bruising more than the bite. I am not planning on running that route all the way to my parents' any time soon (if ever) (though I only do it once or twice a month anyway). Last weekend I met them at Starbucks and I might sometime have them pick me up a few blocks away...though that sort of defeats the concept of running from one location to another, if I need a ride at the end!
